I’ve come to save Father’s Day with this free, printable card!

Because you know and I know that you didn’t get a present, and here it is Wednesday. And no, he doesn’t want a report on the cat’s DNA for father’s day. Yes, I saw it had free shipping.

Instead, print out this heartfelt Father’s Day Blessing card:

I even deliberately didn’t put “happy father’s day” anywhere on it, so you would have something to write on the inside. Print, fold, and sign with love and sincerity, you bum.

  1. Yes, Happy father’s day to Damien–and you who helped make him a father.

Thumbs up on the dream part. Retelling dreams is my husband’s #1 pet peeve. But I say thumbs up in theory, as I feel utterly compelled to tell him about them at least 4X p/m.

We’ve become so inured to shame that we let our kids play with the empty bottles on the beach. My Mormon friend cringes. I don’t even stop *her* kid from playing with them.

    Cheers, and happy summer too!

  2. Thanks. I’ll take that. My children don’t believe in Father’s Day cards. I’ll be lucky to hear from them at all. Bummer man. Oh well. Their mother, my ex-wife, now annulled, seemed to not like me. She would get really mad about things that happened in her dreams. The therapist described her behavior as “parent alienation”. So, as I make plans for my departure, I expect they’ll get a letter which starts with “The purpose of this letter is to inform you of the disposition of your late father’s estate.” While family unity is a really great idea, we weren’t promised family unity. In fact, I recall somebody stating they were going to set family members against each other. So, if you have a happy family, be sure to pray the Rosary together, every day. And go to Mass every holy day of obligation, and on other days as well.

This is why I love you.

  4. That last line! I had a dream last night wherein we visited my childhood home in the West and my husband wanted to move in with with my mom and sister’s family. I was crying and pleading with him, telling him how much I loved the East and our new home. He was very unreasonable and would not listen to me, so I finally said, “Fine. You stay here. I’m going back home with the boys.” It was very traumatic and I berated him when I woke up. I wonder what Freud would say?
